1. Who runs Vouch

Vouch is operated by an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at seandnewmanuk@gmail.com. That address is monitored, and it is the right place for questions, complaints, and legal notices.

2. What Vouch is

Vouch is an app for keeping and sharing personal recommendations — places to go and people to call — within your own network of friends. When you recommend a business, that recommendation ("a vouch") can answer a question later asked by someone who knows you, or by a friend of theirs.

Vouch is not a review site. There are no anonymous reviews, no ratings, and no public feed.

3. Your account

You sign in with your phone number. We send you a one-time code by SMS to confirm it is yours. Keep access to that number secure — anyone who can receive your codes can reach your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vouch.

One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone else, and do not create an account on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.

4. What you post, and who can see it

When you write a vouch, ask a question, or answer one, that content is visible to your friends and to their friends — people two connections away from you. This limit is enforced by the service itself, not only by the app on your phone.

⚠ Two exceptions, and they matter:

• If you share a question by link, anyone holding that link can read it and answer it, including people with no Vouch account. Sharing a link makes that question readable outside your network. Only share questions you are content for a stranger to see.
• A business you recommend, and the fact that it has been recommended, may be visible more widely than your comment on it. Your name is only shown to people within your network.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it, you give us permission to store it and show it to the people described above, for as long as you keep it on Vouch.

5. What you may not post

Do not post content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, that harasses or defames a person or a business, or that sexualises children. Do not post someone's private information — including a phone number, an address, or a photograph — without their agreement.

Vouch names real businesses and, sometimes, real individual traders. A person named in a recommendation did not necessarily agree to be listed. Write about them as you would be willing to have written about you.

6. Reporting content

Every vouch, question, answer and profile carries a way to report it. Reporting takes a few seconds and does not require you to explain yourself in writing — you choose a reason from a short list.

We are notified when a report arrives. We review reports and may remove content, remove a business from the catalogue, or suspend an account. We do not promise a response time, and we do not undertake to tell you the outcome of a report you make about someone else's content.

You can report content without an account, from a shared link, using the same route.

If you believe content infringes your copyright, or you are named in content you did not consent to, email seandnewmanuk@gmail.com and say what the content is and why.

7. Answering as a guest

If someone shares a question with you and you answer it without creating an account, you are a guest. Your answer, and the name you give with it, is shown to the person who asked and to their network. See the Privacy Policy for what we do with any contact details you provide.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account from within the app at any time. When you do:

• your profile, your phone number, your friend connections, and your private content are deleted;
• recommendations and answers you contributed are kept, but are no longer connected to you. Other people's questions may have been answered on the strength of them, and removing them outright would take away content those people relied on.

⚠ Deletion is not reversible, and content detached from you in this way cannot be reattached.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

9. What we do and do not promise

Vouch is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption, that the information in it is accurate, or that a recommendation is a good one. Recommendations are other people's opinions, not ours, and not advice.

Vouch's business listings are built in part from OpenStreetMap data, which is provided by its contributors under the Open Database Licence. A listing being present is not a statement by us about that business.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of Vouch or from your reliance on a recommendation. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Changes

We may change these terms. The version identifier at the top of this page changes when we do. If a change is significant, we will ask you to accept the new version in the app.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
